Leesa and Wayne Kofmehl opened All Things Wine July 10, 2007, just ten days before their fifth wedding anniversary.  Being long time residents of the Renton Highlands, they knew it was the right place to open a wine shop.  "We love living in the Renton Highlands and are excited about its growth in the past few years.  We are thrilled to be a part of it."  All Things Wine is family owned and operated.  Wayne and Leesa chose to keep their day jobs so convinced her mother Teeda, it was time for semi-retirement and you will see her at the shop during the days.

The Kofmehl's say this about opening a wine shop, "All Things Wine is the result of a hobby gone array.  We have enjoyed collecting and tasting wine and visiting wineries for years and wanted to share what we have experienced in all that time.  We are often asked what is our favorite wine and are unable to name just one favorite, in fact we have been on a quest to find our ultimately favorite wine, but hope we never find it."

Leesa graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Central Washington University and has lived in Washington and even the Seattle area most of her life.  She is an avid "joiner" and is a member of Rotary, the Chamber, and The Arabian Horse Association; she is also a Wish Grantor for the Make a Wish Foundation and on the board for Destination Des Moines.  You will see her volunteering for many events throughout South Puget Sound.  Besides, wine her hobbies include riding her horse and training her for the Arabian and Dressage shows in the fall, reading and listening to jazz music.

Wayne is a Spokane native, but has lived in the Renton area for 15 plus years.  Wayne has a sales and marketing background as well as a retail background and has enjoyed putting his experience to work in the shop.  His other hobbies include hiking (he has recently accomplished his goal of hiking Mt. Si) and listening to blues with a nice glass of wine.  He also enjoys barbequing and his wife calls him a "Master on the Grill", (and she doesn't just say that to get him to barbeque more often.)

Teeda worked for the same company for 18 plus years when she finally retired to start work at All Things Wine.  Her keen eye for decorating and enthusiasm to learn new things made her the perfect fit for the shop (Not to mention her welcoming personality and friendly attitude.)  She was born in Seattle and has lived most of her life in the Seattle area.  Her hobbies include reading, gardening, biking or walking and visiting new local haunts with friends.  Oh and guys, she is currently single, but her daughter is working to change that.

Our newest employee is Lucy.  A beautiful red head, born under the sign of Cancer.  She is the first to greet you as you come in the door and whines when you go.  She loves nothing more than a good cuddle under a willing chin and demands prettily to be picked up.  (Have you guessed she's a dog?) Toy poodle infact.  She dances, rolls over, sits pretty and finishes with a bow and will sleep peacefully in the arms of friends and strangers.  Even nondog lovers can't help but develop a soft spot for her and many visit during the day just to see her. 

Other members of the Kofmehl family include a Cat named "Jazz" and a horse named "Cat" and yes this causes some confusion in the household as to what family member is being mentioned at the time. We hope that next year our family will grow another member with a baby cat, no wait "Cat" with a Friesian Arabian cross foal.
